Who do you turn to when you need components that it's just not economic for you to produce in your own factory?
Take the pressure off: Weatherald will make the bits it isn’t economic for you to produce.
If they're "off the shelf", it's easy; there are numerous suppliers. But say you needed components to the right size and shape for one of your unique designs. What then? That's where having contacts comes in...and there's one company that's definitely worth adding to your contacts list: Weatherald Wood Components Ltd.
Based up in Askrigg, Weatherald claim they can make anything and specialise in the bits you find the most difficult and uneconomic. They are well known by many of the top blue chip manufacturers in the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and office sectors and offer a full service from design to manufacture according to your requirements.
"We manufacture a whole range of kitchen accessories, bathroom accessories, shelving products, timber doors... we can actually make anything out of hardwoods and MDF, and we do," says Roy Fishwick. "All our work is to customer specification and orders vary between 20 and 20,000 off. Normally it is between 200 and 500 off."
By "full service" Weatheralds mean they will carry out design and literally put a product in a box for you at the end of it. You choose as much or as little of that service as your requirements dictate. And when it comes to manufacturing, Weatherald's factory is well-suited to the task.
"We have CNC routers, moulders, sanders, saws, drilling and edge-banding, spray booths and a Venjacob line which will cope with long products and we have a packaging line which will shrink wrap," says Roy. "We use various water-based and AC stains and laquers. We make kilometers worth of mouldings, tens of thousands of bathroom panels, we're good at bespoke doors in the fifty to one hundred range and we have CAD-CAM so we can make mock-ups. We are currently investing in an assembly plant so we can assemble, pack and box as well as offer component or flat-pack forms."
"Our aim is to provide the best manufacturing solution. We carry a lot of stock to enable fast turn-around. Normally our manufacturing lead time is four to six weeks." Impressed? Note the name for the next time you have a problem.
