Copy from Furniture Journal – A coup for Weatherald

More often than not it is the unusual things in life that give us pleasure.

Magnet Kitchens have found a high quality match in Weatherald Wood Components

Take a kitchen for example. You may be thinking that there is nothing unusual about cupboards and worktops but it is the little extras which give a kitchen its distinctiveness.

Its the little things that matter. One company that knows it well is component manufacturer, Weatherald Wood Components. The company's reputation for producing high quality wood products of a complex design, even at short notice, has led to Magnet kitchens, one of the biggest fitted kitchen suppliers to turn to the North Yorkshire company to supply some of the most complicated parts of its latest kitchens.

Magnet has purchased a range of around thirty items from Weatherald, which include end-display units, wine racks, canopies and other accessories. The range will complement Magnet's mainstream cabinets and other elements from their kitchen range.

" Magnet's strategy is to concentrate on volume production of standard units. When something unusual is involved outsourcing to our specialised facility is the better solution" says Weatherald's Roy Fishwick. "The secret is to ensure that what we make matches exactly with Magnet's units, with precisely the same colouring and finish. That involves working to very rigorous standards."

Weatherald's commitment to achieving these high standards in their manufacturing process has been implemented through investment. These investments have been in both the plant and in equipment. A new CNC machining centre has recently been installed, enabling Weatherald to remove multiple production stages and become more efficient in the production of its wood products.

Through these investments Weatherald can ensure that they remain a leader in producing specialised items at competitive prices. Competitive price was another reason why Magnet decided to buy from Weatherald: "We sell our kitchens as high-quality products, so we had to be careful when choosing a partner to work with us, " explains Robin Cook of Magnet. "Weatherald Wood is one of the few companies able to provide the service we need and we are delighted to be dealing with them."
